Abstrakt: New research conducted at Harvard Medical School provides updated knowledge about ovarian cancer. The study focuses on the use of cytokine-induced memory-like natural killer (NK) cells in the treatment of epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). The researchers found that these NK cells demonstrated superior antitumor responses against EOC cell lines and patient-derived xenograft tumor cells. Additionally, when the NK cells were transduced with a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) targeting the membrane-proximal domain of mesothelin (MSLN), they showed even greater antitumor activity. The adoptive transfer of these CAR NK cells effectively inhibited tumor growth and prevented metastatic spread in xenograft mice. This research suggests that CAR NK cells could be a promising therapeutic strategy for EOC. [Extracted from the article]
