A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of California San Diego (UCSD) has explored the use of a non-invasive diagnostic tool for evaluating chronic pelvic pain in women. The study compared the results of a dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI technique called Differential Subsampling with Cartesian Ordering (DISCO-MRI) with the gold standard method of diagnosing ovarian vein reflux, fluoroscopic venography. The findings showed that DISCO-MRI has the potential to provide similar diagnostic information to fluoroscopic venography, without exposing patients to ionizing radiation. This research suggests that DISCO-MRI could be a valuable tool for diagnosing chronic pelvic pain. [Extracted from the article] |
