A recent study conducted by researchers from the Naval Health Research Center in San Diego, California, examined the cardiovascular differences between male and female US Marine recruits during progressive loaded hikes. The study found that female Marines experienced greater cardiovascular demand compared to male Marines when carrying loads greater than 15 kg. Despite having to carry the same occupational load, female soldiers tend to be lighter than male soldiers, resulting in a heavier relative load. The findings suggest that there are gender differences in cardiovascular response during physical activities in the military. [Extracted from the article] |
