A study conducted at La Paz University Hospital in Madrid, Spain, examined the combined use of transcatheter edge-to-edge therapy (TEER) and mechanical circulatory support devices (MCS) in patients with cardiogenic shock (CS) and mitral regurgitation (MI). The study found that TEER in combination with MCS showed promising results, with a high device procedural success rate and acceptable mortality and heart failure readmission rates at the 12-month follow-up. The research suggests that this approach could be a therapeutic alternative for patients with CS and MR who require MCS. [Extracted from the article] |
