A new report from the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine in Jacksonville, Florida, explores the use of partial adrenalectomy (PA) as a treatment for benign tumors. The study analyzes the outcomes of 72 patients who underwent PA between 1993 and 2023, comparing surgical approaches and examining concerns such as bleeding and non-functioning adrenal remnants. The research concludes that PA is a safe and effective treatment option, with low recurrence rates and a low need for hormone replacement therapy. The study suggests that PA should be considered as the preferred treatment method and highlights the potential benefits of robotic-assisted techniques. [Extracted from the article] |
