A case report from Tishreen University Hospital discusses the occurrence of avascular necrosis (AVN) in the triquetrum bone without trauma. AVN is a rare condition in the carpal region, and this case study explores the signs, diagnosis, and treatment of AVN in a healthy 22-year-old individual. The patient experienced persistent wrist pain without any history of injury, and an MRI revealed a decrease in signal intensity in the triquetrum bone, leading to the diagnosis of AVN. The study emphasizes the importance of early detection using suitable imaging methods and highlights the need for further research on optimal treatment strategies for this unusual presentation.
