Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at the Dalian Blood Center in China explored the impact of different phenotypes of the Duffy blood group on the storage and scavenging function of chemokines in erythrocytes. The researchers collected erythrocyte samples and tested for Duffy blood phenotypes using the anti-human globulin method. They found that the Fy(a+b+) phenotypes of the Duffy blood group were able to store more chemokines and had a stronger chemokine scavenging function compared to the Fy(a+b-) phenotypes. These findings suggest that the Duffy blood group phenotypes can influence the chemokine-related functions of erythrocytes. [Extracted from the article]
