Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at Kunming Children's Hospital in Yunnan, China, examined the immune status of children with thalassemia who received repeated blood transfusions. The study found that the children with thalassemia had imbalances in their lymphocyte subsets and abnormal levels of immunoglobulins in their humoral immunity. The research suggests that repeated blood transfusions may affect the immune system of children with thalassemia. Further research is needed to better understand the implications of these findings.
