In this paper, the vital signs of a human subject are estimated at V-Band using the off-body link of the body area network (BAN). The central node of BAN is mounted on the chest of the subject and due to the periodic motion of the chest, the received signal contains the vital sign information. The vital sign information is extracted from the received data. To validate the concept, measurements are performed at 60 GHz using a network analyzer. The antenna is mounted on the body and the respiration rate is successfully extracted from the measurements. Thus, the off-body link of a BAN can be used for vital sign monitoring for health and recreational purposes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
