Pivotal's Blackfly eVTOL is an ultralight aircraft with eight propellers and electric propulsion that does not require a pilot's license. The aircraft, which resembles something from Star Trek, is years ahead of other aircraft in the FAA Part 103 Ultralight category. The Blackfly was developed by Canadian inventor Marcus Leng and has undergone extensive testing and development. Pivotal envisions a market of well-heeled adventurers for this accessible and safe aircraft. The preproduction Blackfly is transitioning to the market-ready Helix, with deliveries expected to begin in early 2025. [Extracted from the article] |
