The article explores a new analytical approach developed by APT and Equinor to extract useful reservoir information from oil-based mud (OBM)-contaminated cuttings samples, aiming to reduce the reliance on costly downhole samples. It also discusses the use of gel-permeation chromatography (GPC) combined with infrared detectors to enhance signal detection and the promise of this method in predicting reservoir fluid properties and applications in flow assurance and well abandonment planning. |
