Kate Winslet produces and stars in a biopic about war photographer Lee Miller. The film focuses on Miller's career during World War Two, skipping over her earlier work as a fashion model. Winslet and director Ellen Kuras made a conscious effort to avoid objectifying Miller and instead highlight her transition from being an object to being behind the camera. Winslet felt a sense of responsibility and liberation in playing Miller, and Andy Samberg co-stars as Miller's friend David Scherman.
