Abstrakt: The article discusses a study which hypothesized that lung fibrin deposition as a marker of lung injury could be detected in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) using positron emission tomography (PET) scanning with a novel, fibrin-specific probe. Topics include qualitative visual analysis of the PET/computed tomography (CT) images and data suggesting that intraalveolar coagulation contributes to the development of pulmonary fibrosis.
