A new study conducted by researchers at Tibet University examines the prevalence of diabetic retinopathy (DR) in hospitalized patients with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) in Tibet and identifies risk factors that may contribute to its occurrence. The study found that the prevalence of DR was 29.3% in these patients. Factors such as longer duration of diabetes and lower levels of vitamin D were associated with an increased risk of DR. The researchers suggest that vitamin D supplementation may be important in preventing DR to some extent. [Extracted from the article] |
