A recent study conducted at Uppsala University Hospital in Sweden aimed to propose a national diagnostic reference level (DRL) for standard endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR) procedures. The study analyzed radiation data from 1423 EVAR procedures performed at 26 centers in Sweden, with 508 procedures included in the preliminary analysis. The researchers found that the proposed preliminary DRL for standard EVAR was 153 Gy cm2. The study concluded that continuous reassessment of national DRLs is necessary to minimize radiation doses.
