Abstrakt: A systematic review and meta-analysis conducted by researchers at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, aimed to evaluate the pain management and sedation requirements of post-surgical children with Down syndrome (DS) compared to those without DS. The study included ten studies with a total of 730 patients, and the analysis consisted of seven studies with 533 patients. The findings showed that patients with DS did not require more sedation or analgesia in the first three days after surgery compared to patients without DS. Additionally, there was no significant difference in the duration of mechanical ventilation between the two groups. [Extracted from the article]
