A recent study conducted at the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles has provided new insights into health-related social risks and needs in a pediatric emergency department. The study found that identifying social risks, such as food insecurity, may not necessarily correlate with patients' desire to receive help. The researchers concluded that both social risks and self-identified social needs should be considered in social care interventions in the pediatric healthcare setting. The study was supported by grants from Boston Children's Hospital and the Verizon Foundation. [Extracted from the article] |
