Abstrakt: | A study conducted by the University of Central Florida found that routine early postoperative radiographs after implant removal in pediatric patients do not provide significant value. The study analyzed data from 290 pediatric patients who had undergone implant removal from 2017 to 2019. The researchers found that postoperative plans were changed in only a small percentage of patients due to abnormal radiographs, and no fractures were observed after implant removal. The study concluded that postoperative radiographs have an average cost of $103 and radiation exposure equivalent to approximately 6 months of natural background radiation.
