A scoping review conducted by researchers at Brunel University London examined the methodologies used in netball injury research and made recommendations for future approaches. The review found that there is a need for more robust research methodologies to establish a reliable evidence base for injury prevention strategies in netball. The researchers identified significant heterogeneity in study designs, data collection methods, and injury definitions. They recommended the development of reliable, continuous surveillance systems, the adoption of a multifactorial approach to assess risk factors, and the use of comprehensive descriptions of injury mechanisms using video methods. The study was published in the journal Systematic Reviews. [Extracted from the article] |
