Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at the University of Michigan examined the association between mechanical axis and osteochondritis dissecans (OCD) of the femoral condyle. OCD is a condition characterized by abnormal subchondral bone and disturbance of overlying articular cartilage. The study found that lower extremity mechanical axis was concordant with the location of OCD lesions in the femoral condyle. Additionally, patients with unilateral medial femoral condylar OCD lesions often had asymmetric varus alignment in the affected extremity. This research provides valuable insights into the relationship between mechanical axis and OCD lesion location. [Extracted from the article]
