Abstrakt: | Researchers from Mie University Hospital conducted a pilot study to investigate the potential hyperkalemic effect of the drug-drug interaction between esaxerenone and trimethoprim in patients with hypertension. The study involved patients who were taking either esaxerenone alone or esaxerenone plus trimethoprim. The results showed that serum potassium levels significantly increased after administration of both esaxerenone alone and esaxerenone plus trimethoprim. However, there was no significant difference in the maximum change in serum potassium levels between the two groups. The researchers concluded that the hyperkalemic effect of the drug-drug interaction is not notable and is related to renal function and trimethoprim dosage. [Extracted from the article] |
