This article discusses the implications of Masoud Pezeshkian's victory in Iran's presidential election. The experts interviewed in the article highlight the ethnic factors that contributed to Pezeshkian's win, as well as the low voter turnout in the first round of the election. They also discuss the challenges and limitations that Pezeshkian may face as president, including the influence of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The experts suggest that significant policy changes are unlikely and that Pezeshkian's government will likely adhere to established regime policies. Additionally, they note that Iran's pursuit of nuclear weapons is expected to continue regardless of the election outcome. [Extracted from the article] |
