Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of British Columbia examined the perceptions and experiences of Black African immigrant women in Canada regarding cervical cancer screening. The study found that there were several key themes that emerged, including confusion about cancer and screening, competing priorities, concerns for modesty, and a commitment to culture. The researchers concluded that more active approaches are needed to promote cervical screening for this population. This study sheds light on the importance of addressing the specific needs and experiences of Black African immigrant women in order to improve cervical cancer prevention and treatment.
