Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine examined the use of telemedicine for incarcerated individuals living with HIV. The study found that telemedicine can improve access to specialized care for underserved populations, such as incarcerated people living with HIV. The research showed that 78% of incarcerated individuals receiving care through a telemedicine clinic remained retained in care, and 94% achieved or maintained viral suppression at 12 months. However, the study also highlighted areas for improvement, such as the need for better documentation of preventative care measures like vaccinations and testing for sexually transmitted infections.
