A new report from Naha, Japan discusses the rare occurrence of mixed neuroendocrine-nonendocrine neoplasms (MiNENs) in the digestive tract. The report presents a case of an 80-year-old man with a metastatic MiNEN originating in the ascending colon. The primary lesion was resected to alleviate symptoms, but the patient declined further treatment and passed away two months after surgery. The research emphasizes the need for increased awareness and accumulation of cases to improve outcomes for patients with colonic MiNENs. [Extracted from the article] |
