A recent study conducted by the ISIC Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences in New Delhi, India, focused on the development of a new offloading knee brace for the management of knee osteoarthritis. The study aimed to provide an affordable alternative to expensive knee orthoses currently available, which are often unaffordable for individuals in developing nations like India. The researchers developed a cost-effective offloading knee brace that showed significant improvements in balance and strength in a 45-year-old male participant with mild knee osteoarthritis. The findings suggest that the offloading knee brace could be effective in improving the symptoms and overall well-being of individuals with medial knee osteoarthritis. [Extracted from the article] |
