A new study conducted by researchers at Erzincan Binali Yildirim University explores the diagnosis of brucellosis, a zoonotic infectious disease. The study aimed to evaluate new approaches for diagnosing the disease and its organ involvement. The researchers used various diagnostic methods, including the Rose Bengal test, Coombs gel test, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and blood culture. The study found that ELISA had the highest success rate in diagnosing brucellosis, followed by the Rose Bengal test and Coombs gel test. The researchers suggest that optimizing diagnostic algorithms and exploring novel approaches, such as inflammatory markers, could improve diagnosis and management of the disease.
