Abstrakt: Researchers at Changchun University of Chinese Medicine have conducted a study on the effects of electroacupuncture on glycolipid metabolism disorders in mice with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). The study focused on the AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK)/acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) signaling pathway and its role in improving glycolipid metabolism. The results showed that electroacupuncture treatment reduced triglyceride, LDL cholesterol, and cholesterol levels, while increasing HDL cholesterol levels in the mice. Additionally, the treatment improved liver histopathologic changes and hepatic glycogen synthesis. The study suggests that electroacupuncture may be effective in improving glucose-lipid metabolism disorders in NAFLD mice through the AMPK/ACC signaling pathway. [Extracted from the article]
