Abstrakt: The Institution of Malay Rulers in Malaysia is a very important institution that has been practiced since ancient times until now. However, the public often perceives this institution as playing a symbolic role without significant impact on socio-politics in Malaysia. Therefore, this study examines the level of understanding among students regarding the importance and role of the Malay Rulers' institution. The study was conducted using a quantitative method through a randomly distributed online questionnaire to 332 students at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris. Findings indicate that the students' understanding is at a high level, as all statements related to the role of this institution received mean scores exceeding 2.34. Furthermore, the main factors influencing students' understanding of this institution are reading the Constitution, early formal education received from teachers, and relevant documentaries on television. The study found that the best way to enhance students' understanding is through exposure to information about this institution in the media, organizing educational visits to the Palace and Royal Museum, and increasing exhibitions on the traditions of the Malay Rulers. Overall, the study provides an overview that the youth, particularly at UPSI, have a good understanding of the role and importance of the Rulers' institution. However, they need to be exposed to experiential learning to ensure they remain aware of the current changes happening within the Malay Rulers' institution in Malaysia. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
