According to this paper, a variable span of tapered wing (MVSTW) can be reduced in weight by the incorporation of structural size, topology, and aerodynamic optimization. This work develops a computational environment to examine the feasibility of morphing wing optimization by incorporating simultaneous structural sizing and topology optimization based on its aerodynamic analysis into the design. In the context of an MVSTW, this is an innovative technique. I'll start with a solution-specific approach for figuring out how light each section of the wing should be, both in terms of the fixed and moving parts. This was accomplished with ANSYS Workbench solver. To meet the structural integrity requirements of the MVSTW, this inquiry aims to minimize total structure compliance while optimizing stiffness.
