Organizational structures continue to evolve to empower employees and allow for more autonomy, creativity, and the like. However, the notion of empowerment clearly indicates that "power" is pushed down to the followers. To our surprise, the measurement of follower power is lacking. This research utilizes a two-study methodology to test a multidimensional measure of follower self-perceived power, analyzing the data with EFA, CFA, convergent, discriminant, and predictive validity tests. Strengths, limitations, and future research are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
