Researchers from Nanjing University in China have developed a new method for the sensitive and rapid detection of cardiac myosin-binding protein C (cMyBP-C), a novel cardiac marker for acute myocardial infarction and acute cardiac injuries. The researchers synthesized multi-shell nanoUrchins (MSNUs) and used them in a colorimetric/SERS dual-mode immunoassay for the detection of cMyBP-C. The MSNUs demonstrated superior stability, brightness, and enhancement ability, allowing for ultrasensitive detection of cMyBP-C. The developed test strips showed better sensitivity, negative predictive value, and accuracy compared to commercially available gold test strips, and can be used in combination with a smartphone application for various applications. This research holds great potential for the early clinical diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction and acute cardiac injuries. [Extracted from the article] |
