Abstrakt: A recent report from Acibadem Mehmet Ali Aydinlar University in Istanbul, Turkey, discusses the potential of mitochondria-targeted liposomes for drug delivery in cancer gene therapy. The researchers synthesized a polymer conjugate and used it to prepare liposomes that specifically target mitochondria. These liposomes were compared to non-targeted liposomes and showed favorable physicochemical properties, cellular uptake, and anticancer effects. The study suggests that these mitochondria-targeted liposomes could be promising carriers for targeted drug delivery to tumor mitochondria. [Extracted from the article]
