Immigrant parents may face challenges in parenting due to cultural clashes when adjusting to a new country, which can impact their children's mental health. Research shows that tailored support for immigrant parents can help them navigate these challenges and better support their children's mental health. However, existing parenting programs are not reaching enough immigrant families. To address this, developers of parenting programs should collaborate with immigrant communities to adapt their programs and minimize acculturative conflicts. This would require greater government support and investment in these programs. In the meantime, immigrant parents can have open discussions with their children, validate their perspectives, and involve them in shaping expectations to promote better communication and understanding within the family.
