Abstrakt: The article focuses on the latest developments in the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). ACM has opened a European Secretariat in Amsterdam to provide faster and more convenient services to our members in Europe, effective March 1, 1980. Located at the offices of the IFIP Foundation, the Secretariat should facilitate contact with members and potential members. A new Special Interest Group on Security, Audit, and Control plans to petition the SIG Board for chartering in the near future. The purposes of the proposed SIG is to exchange technical information on subjects relating to the security of data processing systems through a newsletter and to sponsor meetings and conferences. Topics of interest to the new group are to include control of access to resources; verification of identity; risk analysis; testing and certification of applications; logging of transactions; data reduction; analysis and certification of programs; control of program development; techniques and protocols for data encryption; and architectural foundations for secure systems.
