This article discusses several key issues related to employee benefits, the first issue is the updates to SECURE 2.0, which require plan sponsors to ensure compliance and optimize benefits. The second issue is the implications of state regulations on pharmacy benefits managers (PBMs), which can increase costs and complicate plan management. The third issue is the risk of excessive fee lawsuits due to new welfare plan disclosures. The fourth issue is the importance of cybersecurity in protecting retirement plans from data breaches and cyberattacks. The fifth issue is the considerations surrounding coverage for gender-affirming care, which is a complex and evolving issue.
