The article discusses the potential for lower- and middle-income countries (LMICs) to transition from ad hoc digital health solutions to more inclusive digital health systems. While many LMICs have already implemented digital health strategies and received funding for digital health programs, there are still gaps in infrastructure, interoperability, governance, and financing. The article proposes the concept of "digital health 2.0" as a way to improve health equity and outcomes in LMICs. It poses five critical questions for further examination and research to fully realize the potential of digital health in improving health for all. [Extracted from the article] |
