The article discusses the phenomenon of post-COVID syndrome (PCS), which refers to the persistent health problems experienced by individuals who have recovered from COVID-19. These symptoms include fatigue, muscle pain, shortness of breath, and cognitive disturbances. The article suggests that capillary rarefication, a decrease in the density of small capillaries, may be a possible cause of PCS. The authors also discuss the renal implications of PCS and the potential for chronic kidney disease to develop in these patients. However, the exact mechanisms and effective treatments for PCS are still unclear. [Extracted from the article] |
