Gryphon, a unique band that blended medieval, classical, and progressive rock music, had a significant year in 1974. They released two ambitious albums, Midnight Mushrumps and Red Queen To Gryphon Three, and embarked on a North American tour with Yes. The band's origins can be traced back to their time at Tiffin's boys' grammar school in Kingston upon Thames, where founding members Graeme Taylor and Richard Harvey met. Gryphon's music was characterized by their use of unconventional instruments and their organic approach to recording. Despite disbanding in 1977, they reunited in 2009 and continue to perform and create music. [Extracted from the article] |
