A 63-year-old woman with Parkinson's disease developed dyskinesia and depressed level of consciousness due to drug intoxication from amantadine. She had been receiving continuous treatment for Parkinson's disease for 5 years and was admitted for aspiration pneumonia. After starting amantadine, she experienced dyskinesia on day 26 and depressed level of consciousness on day 90. The dose of amantadine was reduced and eventually discontinued, leading to improvement in her symptoms. [Extracted from the article] |
