This study aimed to develop a system for detecting cigarette smoke using an MQ2 sensor and arduino microcontroller. The system was designed to alert individuals of the presence of smoke through a liquid crystal display and buzzer. The MQ2 sensor was able to detect smoke at distances of over 60 cm at a 45˚ angle and over 90 cm when parallel to the center of the smoke, with a detection time of 132 seconds. The system was found to be effective in detecting smoke in well-lit areas and with a compact design that requires minimal space. These findings suggest that the developed system could be utilized in various settings to improve smoke detection and promote healthy environments. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
