Abstrakt: | Researchers from University College London (UCL) have developed a new method called high-density diffuse optical tomography (HD-DOT) to map changes in brain activation in infants. The researchers used a whole-head infant implementation of the HD-DOT technology to collect data from a group of 16 infants aged 5-7 months. The study found activity in temporal regions of the brain, as well as in regions outside those typically studied in infant research. The researchers believe that this new method will help improve our understanding of typical and atypical neurodevelopment in infants. [Extracted from the article] |
