Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at the Medical University of South Carolina has examined the use of risk assessment models (RAMs) for venous thromboembolism (VTE) prophylaxis in hospitals. The study aimed to validate the IMPROVE RAMs and develop a fast-and-frugal decision tree based on these models. The researchers found that using the decision tree could prevent unnecessary treatments and save millions of dollars annually. They recommend integrating the IMPROVE models into hospital electronic medical records to enhance VTE prevention in hospitalized medical patients. [Extracted from the article]
