Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by the University of Guanajuato aimed to assess the predictive potential of clinical and biochemical variables for diagnosing non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in patients with gallstone disease (GD). The study included 239 patients who underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy and liver biopsy. The researchers developed predictive models for NAFLD diagnosis based on sex-specific variables, which showed superior diagnostic performance compared to previous indices. These models have the potential to guide healthcare providers in making clinical decisions and achieving optimal outcomes for patients. [Extracted from the article]
