Abstrakt: A systematic review conducted by researchers at Dokuz Eylul University examined meaning-based intervention programs for individuals diagnosed with cancer. The review identified 20 studies that focused on developing a sense of meaning and purpose in life for cancer patients. The majority of the studies included in the review were influenced by Viktor Frankl's studies and adopted an existential approach in psychotherapy. The findings suggest that meaning-based interventions are highly effective in improving the sense of meaning, quality of life, and spiritual well-being for cancer patients, and they may also have positive effects on anxiety, depression, and other emotional distress levels. However, the researchers note that more rigorous studies are needed to draw more comprehensive conclusions about these interventions. [Extracted from the article]
