A recent study conducted by researchers at Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia has found that the aqueous crude leaf extract of Coriandrum sativum (coriander) exhibits significant antimalarial efficacy in mice infected with Plasmodium berghei, the parasite that causes malaria. The study aimed to evaluate the plant's antimalarial properties and found that the extract demonstrated a significant inhibition of parasitemia in all tested models. The researchers recommend further investigation into the therapeutic potential of coriander as an antimalarial treatment. This research provides valuable insights into the potential use of traditional folk plants in the development of new antimalarial drugs. [Extracted from the article] |
