A new report from the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research in Sydney, Australia discusses the potential benefits of videoconferencing (VC) for individuals with traumatic brain injury (TBI) who require intensive rehabilitation. The study found that most individuals with moderate-to-severe TBI reported high levels of technology skills and access, and used the internet from multiple devices daily. The research also identified demographic and psychological factors that predict readiness for VC rehabilitation. The findings suggest that the use of VC in clinical settings for individuals with TBI is feasible and may offer greater access to remotely delivered healthcare. [Extracted from the article] |
