Abstrakt: | A study conducted by researchers at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences aimed to determine the effects of orally administered lipopolysaccharides (LPS) on mice fed a high-fat western-style diet. The study found that LPS did not increase inflammation or induce metabolic dysregulation in the mice. The researchers observed a transient upregulation of NF-kB activity in the liver region in both diet groups, but this response disappeared within the first week of LPS administration. The study suggests that intestinally derived LPS may not initiate systemic inflammation in a healthy intestine, even when exposed to a high-fat diet. [Extracted from the article] |
