A new report from Brock University summarizes the findings of a study on the effects of ursolic acid on colorectal cancer. Colorectal cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths, and current treatment options have limited success. The review of studies found that treatment with ursolic acid inhibited the growth of colon cancer cells and induced apoptosis. In animal models, ursolic acid also reduced tumor volume and angiogenesis. Further research is needed to fully understand the potential anticancer properties of ursolic acid and to determine its effectiveness in human clinical trials. [Extracted from the article] |
