Abstrakt: Gas Tungsten Arc (GTA) welding employs to reduce the welding cost and produces the quality of the joint at the required positions. In this study, multipass GTA welding of SS316L was simulated, and experiments investigated its impacts on thermal analysis. An accurate and physically suitable heat flux simulation model is to be given as input for the analysis of welding processes. The transient thermal analysis was modeled using ANSYS with relevant APDL coding using Double Ellipsoidal moving heat flux models, providing boundary conditions. The temperatures of weldments were measured in real-time using infrared thermography and validated with simulation using ANSYS. Temperature readings were obtained from the analysis and the experiment, and the degree of agreement is less than 1%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
